The Brief

Dropping The Plates approached Whiteski Digital looking to create a beautiful lifestyle blog that would allow a mother to share her personal journey online, including honest and engaging articles around motherhood, family life and her second pregnancy.

This project was highly personal to the client and required a website that not only looked visually stunning but also reflected her personality and storytelling style. After being shown a number of inspiration websites within the lifestyle and parenting space, the brief was clear — create something cleaner, more modern and more unique to her brand and vision.

Whiteski Digital designed a clean, elegant and highly modern lifestyle blog built around content discovery and reader engagement. The design focused heavily on creating an immersive reading experience whilst allowing visitors to easily browse categories, featured posts and the latest articles through a custom content-led layout.

The website was structured intelligently so that as new articles are added through the backend, the front-end updates dynamically with:

  • Featured articles
  • Latest posts
  • Most read content
  • Category highlights
  • Recommended content sections

This meant the client could focus purely on writing and uploading content, with the website automatically keeping itself fresh and engaging for visitors.

The project included lots of collaboration throughout the design process, helping ensure the final website felt deeply personal and perfectly aligned with the client’s vision. Additional custom features included:

  • “Buy Me A Coffee” integration for audience support
  • Collaboration pages for future partnerships
  • Bespoke navigation menus
  • Custom upload and content display features

The final design was incredibly polished and visually striking — genuinely standing levels above many other websites within the lifestyle and parenting space.

Web Development

The website was custom built on WordPress using Elementor, giving the client complete flexibility and ease when managing articles and content moving forward.

Backend functionality was carefully developed to automate much of the content presentation, reducing workload for the client whilst maintaining a highly dynamic and professional front-end experience.

The build focused heavily on:

  • Easy content management
  • Mobile responsiveness
  • Fast loading times
  • Clean user journeys
  • Long-term scalability

Whiteski Digital also provided secure hosting and ongoing support for the website.

04.

SEO

SEO was implemented throughout the build as standard to ensure strong foundations for future growth and article visibility online. This included:

  • Meta headlines and descriptions
  • Correct H tag structures
  • Optimised content layouts
  • Sitemap creation and indexing
  • Clear website architecture for content discovery

The website was built specifically to support long-term organic growth as more blog articles and lifestyle content continue to be added over time.

Results

The client was thrilled with the final result and loved how the website perfectly captured her vision whilst elevating it far beyond the original inspiration sites shared.

This project highlights the real difference working with experienced designers and developers can make — not simply replicating ideas, but understanding the vision and taking it further through thoughtful design, functionality and user experience.

Dropping The Plates now has a stunning online platform with huge scope for growth over the coming years and a website that truly reflects the personality and authenticity behind the brand.
